Winning the top award from the Cinema Audio Society indicates the esteem in which their peers hold Dunkirk‘s sound team, but Academy voters will likely be more impressed by the fact that the film is often very loud.
It’s a deserving win, though, as Christopher Nolan’s typically intricate structure cuts between its three narratives, each with seamlessly integrated soundscapes.
