Dunkirk (Alex Gibson, Richard King)
The immersive aspects of Dunkirk are to an unusual degree the product of its sound editing, which relies heavily on post-production captures of particular planes, particular boats, and probably particular Tom Hardys mumbling their way through their day-to-day lives, as I assume they do. It’s a pretty staggering technical achievement.
